Street Cat

My submission for Illustration Friday, Visitor.

“Hey honey, my brother Syd from the city will be visiting us next week. I don’t know when he’s leaving.” Says Norma, the country cat, to her husband Larry. Larry, who works long hours on the family ranch, isn’t too pleased with the idea of hosting his brother-in-law, who he views as shiftless and lazy.

Gee whiz... I love this! He has the best expression, and he looks perfectly "normal" standing up wearing a cap! What a great piece:>

He is a very cool cat! Almost looks like he could be a sculpture, lots of dimension to this!

A shiftless and lazy cat named Syd? That is a great story. A superb take on this week's topic.

Shiftless and lazy could describe many cats. And some husbands as well, but not mine!

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the nice comments. I've been inspired by your words to do some more Syd illustrations. We've got a story line going here.

Check back for more.

Oh, BTW, Syd's full name is Syd Dellastrada. He's Sicilian.
