The Turtle Taxi

The squirrel hops a ride on the tortoise taxi because he knows the turtle will get him to his desired destination. Illustration by Robert McLaughlin.

Version 2 of this strange little picture with better lighting and shading.

Both these are great! What software are you using? I just had the honor of meeting Twisselman. He was coming this way and we met at a coffeeshop. That was fun to do.

Intense, maybe--weird, yes!

I've been switch hitting between DAZ Studio and Poser for the 3D work. DAZ is the greatest free 3D software on the planet! I love it! Poser is $250, I love it also--I just love free more.

Layering of the background and foreground was done in Photoshop.

I think the second image is better because of the shadows underneath the turtle. Because he is so evenly lit, the top picture looks likes he's disconnected from the background.

Cool, thanks for the info! I'll check out DAZ and maybe play with it after the holidays.

I have client ( and I edit training movies for her. I just finished editing the new movies for 3dsmax, but I see that it is VERY expensive software...but it got me thinking.

Have a great Christmas!

And yes, I hope Nicole will eventually "find the light". Lame, perhaps, but that's me!
